We are still making sense of the major shifts of July. The 2026 Aries Full Moon is an emotional milestone in the process. And it promises a powerful release of energy.
A full moon always brings a culmination of feelings, dramas and situations that have been building. In Aries, they’re bound to be personal, highly charged, impulsive and perhaps a bit angry. Aries has an unpremeditated, shoot-from-the-hip daring streak, which will translate now into a lot of excitement, not to mention a lot of hair trigger developments.
Think you know what’s going to happen? Don’t be so sure. The Moon has a curious companion, one with a knack for softening, blurring, cloaking and obscuring: Neptune. It deals in escapism, transcendence, glamour and illusion, and links us to nonphysical, unseeable forces that are untethered from worldly experience.
Neptune tightly conjunct the 2026 Aries Full Moon has the power to make an outburst look one way when it’s really another. To confuse and misdirect motivation. To soften or dissolve anger and aggression. But the aspect also has the power to infuse passionate, heated emotions and situations with higher love, compassion and understanding.
Which may be the gift this event delivers. It could burn off anger; it could burn off frustration; and it most likely will ignite a visceral understanding of the new wiring that you’ve received. That’s because the Moon and Neptune are at the spot Neptune occupied during July’s basket configuration, which linked raw creativity and connection to spirit (Neptune) to radical, innovative messages and thinking (Uranus) to transformation of power and networks (Pluto) and to expanded self-expression (Jupiter).
The upshot is a dramatic point of emotional processing – mingled with intellectual awareness and knowing. That comes from the other connection to July’s configuration. The Libra Sun is at the spot that the Moon occupied on July 19, when Jupiter completed its opposition to Pluto and put a lid on the basket. The Moon, representing emotions as well as the collective, formed the handle for the basket. Now the Sun has taken her place, moving our core selves into handle position. The progression marks another stage in consciously processing the changes you’ve been undergoing.
There’s a definite fearlessness in what you can draw on. The 2026 Aries Full Moon has an open doorway to Pluto and all his resources, via a tight sextile. The doorway goes both ways. It allows you to pull from your depths, as well as attack forces that lurk within them. The aspect also invites issues of community and and technology into the Moon’s dramas.
There’s a potential for volatility as well. The Moon has a second open doorway to disruptive, awakening, liberating Uranus. Information could surprise, shock and trigger an eruption, perhaps piercing deceit or illusion along the way.
And there’s an irritation that pushes you to deal with it. The Moon is in a nagging semisextile to August’s Pisces Full Moon lunar eclipse, which closed a chapter in many a situation with overly porous boundaries. The nagging argues against soldiering on, but instead nudges unfinished business from those sagas into the Full Moon mix, where it adds to reasons to combust.
Rocket fuel is also coming from the 2026 Aries Full Moon’s ruler, Mars. He’s at the very last degree of Cancer, escalating fighting and protective instincts to their max, spurred on by a square to Chiron, which has just retrograded back into Aries. Feisty is an understatement. Fighting mad, more like it.
You’re in for cathartic emotional release. Situations that have been building will come to a head, probably without warning – in many cases, with one minor incident finally being too much, as in the straw that broke the camel’s back – and possibly explosively.
And then they may blow over. Aries doesn’t hold on. It moves on. As you will.
