“Mindfulness: Discoveries to Be Found” – Influences, obstacles; meditation (empty/no mind)
Welcome, friends. Spirituality has, at its core, the practice of mindfulness. Mindfulness is a word that might be defined as something unique to each of us, yet there is common awareness and discoveries to be found. Immersing our self in mindfulness by getting in touch with our inner feelings before we attempt to categorize them may serve to help us be more accurate and peaceful in life.
Just as an archer must look at the target before shooting an arrow, so must we all look with that same precision. Our imperfections being what they are, we are never guaranteed a bulls-eye. Not to mention what it might take to look past the things that cloud our vision–very much like the clouds that exist in our physical atmosphere. However, looking at whatever stands in front of us and taking into consideration other factors, does help us to get closer to that middle point of understanding.
Why is the middle so important along with the balance of different factors? The answers to these questions come from within, of course, so we must look there. Before we take our first step to seek an answer or try for a targeted goal–before we try to balance any other factors–the first and most necessary act is to “look.”
The process of looking is, by itself, an exercise in communication. It is a two-way street; quite like any other circle or cycle, where information is exchanged and utilized. Many of us are always looking, sometimes never seeing, the things that are “beyond” our optical vision. We have trouble enough seeing physically, never mind attempting to visualize what we cannot see! We might say that we have a problem or miscommunication in the way our [internal] vision works; it is a processing disorder we can therapeutically work on improving with thanks to mindfulness techniques.
