Taurus doesn’t let go easily, but like most everything else these days, it’s operating outside usual norms. So just watch. This year’s 2026 Taurus Full Moon promises to be a veritable purgefest.

So much of life has been undergoing an overhaul since July. Well, since forever, it seems, doesn’t it? This month Venus’ retrograde has had us revisiting and reexamining people and a huge swath of existence that once held meaning and appeal. Now it’s time for a status report, and for next steps. Near the halfway point of her journey, we’re sorting through and acting on what we’ve experienced and processed so far.

Both sides of the equation – the Sun and Moon, logic and emotion, masculine and feminine – uncommonly reflect this retrograde. Venus rules the sign of this Moon (as well as Libra, which she has just re-entered), while the Sun is in the sign she has been in for some six weeks. And, not coincidentally, Venus is in an out of sign conjunction with the Sun, opposite the Moon, her position allowing for both an immersion in and long-distance perspective on everything she’s been bringing back up.

And this 2026 Taurus Full Moon is in the thick of it. Venus is conjunct the Sun on October 23, her cazimi or star point. It’s the last in the sign of Scorpio for our lifetimes and brings a moment of cellular level clarity. Mercury starts his retrograde in Scorpio on October 24, then she scooches back into Libra on the day of the 2026 Taurus Full Moon. It’s a flurry of activity, but feels slo-mo, the sensation of time stopping coming from Mercury’s retrograde station. The combination allows for a prolonged look at all the dramas cresting – and for prolonging the dramas as well.

Desires, finances, passions, attachments, precious baubles, even food are in for once-overs, and then some. Doesn’t feel comfortable? Ditch it. Doesn’t taste good? Leave it on the plate. Throw it out. Stop buying it. Doesn’t fit your values? It’s gone. Doesn’t fit who you are now? Buh-bye.

More ruthlessly than you might have thought possible.

The 2026 Taurus Full Moon is in an out of sign conjunction with Chiron, the dwarf planet that brings areas for healing into focus. Retrograde in Aries, he’s been rekindling wounds of agency and aggression (and masculinity), which fuel the sorting process of this Venus-ruled Moon. Taurus is placid until it’s not, and Chiron’s proximity is sandpapering that tendency. And because Venus is opposite the Moon, she is opposite Chiron as well (and more closely so), pitting desire against fiery, frustrated will – and women against the aggressions of men.

Chiron’s role is one reason some of the dramas are so combustive right now. The other is the planet smack between the Moon and the Sun. They are equally bearing down on Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio, the agent of unavoidable change, and the focus of a t-square. It’s serving multiple roles here – toxic waste dump, nuclear arsenal, power broker, scythe – intensifying every situation into extreme manifestation.

Two probable extremes: Feeling intensely beyond any point of reason about some of the dramas and endings. And some of those hitting a point of no going back.

Endings are a given. You are behind some of them. They have the potential to be bloodlessly clean, following the motto of a real-life Libra Sun with a Scorpio Moon, “It’s better to do surgery with a scalpel than a butter knife.” Although messes are certainly possible with some of the Pluto-powered dramas, your reaction could be to disengage. “Over it!”

Utter transformations are also a given. This retrograde has already brought a lot of non-negotiables to light. The Venus-ruled Libra New Moon has birthed revised ground rules and moved specific relationships into different forms. The 2026 Taurus Full Moon drops an “And I really mean it!” period to the end of many a sentence.

This may sound terrifying. You may well welcome it, though. It promises catharsis, and cutting away drags on your energy and worse.

And a lot of it will feel necessary and a relief. Whatever we’re discarding, whatever is leaving is freeing up space for our future. The clearing and transforming are in keeping with the rewiring we underwent in July. Two of the players in that rewiring, Neptune and Uranus, are each semi-sextile to the Moon, turning up the heat, nudging us along and making it uncomfortable to stay where we were – to the point of physical discomfort. Neptune is dissolving attachments and sending signals through dreams and guidance, while Uranus is buzzing us with realizations and shockwaves and startling plot twists.

Add to this Venus’ trine to the North Node, the flow of energy between her retrograde journey and the path to the future. Resistance is futile. It’s also counterproductive. You know what you’re done with. Let. It. Go.
