Moments in Mindfulness
Mindfulness is the essence of spiritual practice, and also, in its perfection, it is the pinnacle of realization. It is your ultimate protection from all that could make you unhappy. It is your shield that deflects all negativity, preventing it from finding space in your mind to grow its roots. It always brings you to here and now. Mindfulness is a practice that makes you a conscious being, aware of the inner and the outer, aware of the Presence that pervades existence.
All evils are born in the absence of mindfulness. Peace and bliss blossom in the heart of mindfulness. There is no superior practice that can awaken the Divine within you and transform you into a person of infinite kindness and compassion.
Mind is indeed mysterious! It can be the door to both hell and heaven!! You cannot wish yourself to enter the gate to heaven; it is only the disciplined mind that has the pass to enter. And to discipline the mind is almost like taming a wild horse! But one who has the right intention and right dedication can resolve to tread the path of the Wise, and cultivate mindfulness and meditative awareness of one’s intrinsic peace and bliss.
Just stop whatever you are doing for a while, become aware of your Inner self, and feel the bliss of the silence. Moments of mindfulness can take you to the state of peace that only you can give to yourself!!
In order to be where you are, you need to be completely aware of yourself.
Mindfulness works wonders in life. Take some deep breaths when you are caught by thoughts that are taking you toward the hell of your negative mind. Flow with the breath for a while; count your incoming breaths and your outgoing breaths, bestowing your attention on the most powerful natural tool that God has given you, your breath. It is magical. Instead of flowing unconsciously with negative self-criticisms and condemnations, wake up, assert your inner lion, roar, and connect to your Spiritual Source.
The pathway is your Own Breath.
By practicing mindful breathing, you will soon see your thoughts are changing, the unpleasant atmosphere within is changing, and you are calming down. Now impregnate the most powerful affirmations of what you would like to see happen in life. They do work, provided you put the seed in fertile, tilled ground, not hard, rocky soil. Don’t accept defeat till you are defeated. Never give up!
How many of us have heard the voice of your Inner self? The voice of your inner master, the voice of awareness! Caught in repetitive routine, many of us forget our most profound need of deep mindful inner introspection and silence which is the very foundational source of true happiness in life.
Conversation with God starts here. God’s voice is heard when our voice stops. Once we start practicing mindfulness in daily life and meditation for awakening, the Inner voice tells us in an unambiguous way, what our true purpose is in life. Once we follow our inner voice, all our regrets dissolve, creating space for contentment and fulfillment of life.
If we read the lives of the great saints and holy masters, we will find that at some point they heard this Inner Voice and knew first-hand the purpose of life.
But in the quick pace of the modern lifestyle, where is the time for one’s own self? It is as if you are sold to others and at points you gasp for breath for there is no time to be your Self. But then, each breath is a breath toward the ultimate of this birth. If we walk the path of life without knowing our final destination, where are we going to reach? Isn’t it true that before a ship sails, the destination is perfectly chalked out? Ninety nine out of one hundred times they reach their port of destination. But ask humans, with perfect knowledge of science and technology, if they have set their compass of life, you will be surprised at how few you find.
Wisdom is the Seer and Sage of your Inner voice. When you see light in the midst of darkness, light even in the shadow, then know that your Inner sage is helping you. You are in Satsang (in the company of the highest truth).
Knowledge is progressive. As we see in the world of science, every day research proves the previous theory was incomplete. The frontiers of knowledge thus keep expanding. But wisdom is based on reality, which is what is. Hence, it does not need any upgrades. It is the clarity of mind, the depth of Inner vision, the purity of the soul from where emanates its perennial flow. From knowledge to Wisdom is our movement. From changeable to the unchangeable reality is the gift of moments of mindfulness and prayerful meditation. Keep persevering, he who walks reaches, for the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Rejoice every tiny step for you are closer to your Goal!!
