Dear Living,
Actually souls experience a type of all-knowingness between lifetimes. It’s in our Earthly existence that we experience a type of spiritual amnesia. Although some souls are more awake than others, most people live in a “veiled” state of consciousness which is your intellect and ego.
You see, we come to Earth for a learning expedition, to learn spiritual lessons through trial and error. We volunteer for Earthly missions to evolve and grow. This Earth is a place for fast track learning. It’s the school of hard knocks. You see, each soul is striving to wake up from this amnesia while in the physical body. And when you do, you’ll no longer incarnate on Earth, you’ll move to the next enlightened state of Grace. The evolution of the soul is an eternal journey.

I’m an amateur Ghost Hunter and I’m curious as to why some of these souls want to stay in creepy places like an asylum, a prison, or a dungeon? I totally get why they might want to stay at their comfy home or hang around their loved ones. But why these places of pain and agony?

Dear Ghost Buster,
First I’d like to say that it’s not a good idea to visit abandoned sites that can be highly charged with immoral acts which were inflicted upon eternal souls. Evil malevolent beings feed off of such energy and can attach themselves to visitors. Ghost hunting can be dangerous, on any trip; I highly recommend shielding up with prayer and protection from God and your angels before entering any haunted site.
Wayward souls that stay in these dark places where their life ended, many were in a state of mental confusion when they left their body. They see little difference between life and death; they are in a lighter body, but everything around them is the same at the moment of death. So in their state of confusion they stay and don’t realize that they can leave. Eventually all souls will return to the light. At some point, they will be coaxed to move on – by their angels, a loved one or a comrade.
