Julian Hyman: You Can Save Our World

You Can Save the World

Julian Hyman is a 98-year-old veteran and recent retiree, who wishes to sell over a million copies of his book U Can Save Our World before his hundredth birthday in 2020 to help bring awareness and find solutions to the problems facing human civilization. His book is a manifesto on profound worldwide change to help save the human race. Hyman is a life-long problem-solver, who believes the world is on the brink of disaster. He thinks our only hope for survival is working together and implementing some of his radical and thought-provoking ideas to transform civilization as we know it. In this short interview, Julian tells OMTimes a little bit about himself and his views.

An Interview with Julian Hyman: You Can Save Our World

u-can-save-the-worldOMTimes: You have lived on planet Earth a long time, what have been the highlights of your life?

Julian Hyman: Life is a journey, and everyone has a story to tell. I once owned an import company which allowed me to travel around the world over 40 times in a 36-year period on buying trips. I visited Portugal, Spain, France, India, Great Britain, Canada, Haiti, Columbia, Argentina, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, The Philippines, Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Israel, China, Yugoslavia, Italy and many more.

My travels allowed me to interact with people from all walks of life, cultures, and religions. I found a common denominator in that people want the best for their family and future generations.

OMTimes: You have written a book called U Can Save Our World, what was your goals for the book?

Julian Hyman: In 1927, there were 2 billion people on this planet. Today the population is over 7.6 billion. Scientists predict that number will surpass 10 billion by 2015. My goal in writing this book was to help people formulate a business plan to use as a guide to move forward to help future generations survive and prosper.

OMTimes: What would you say is the primary threat to our planet’s survival and why?

Julian Hyman: Technology and medical science have been a blessing and a curse. Due to all the medical advancements, people are living longer. There is a more substantial burden to feed everyone and make sure there is adequate drinking water. In today’s world, people also want instant gratification. Things are moving so fast that people are having a hard time keeping up. The internet has brought people of the world closer together. It has not helped bridge the gap between cultures and philosophical differences. For the human race to survive, people from around the world are going to have to work together.OMTimes: Tell us about some of the ideas in your book.

Everyone should be able to speak two languages. There would be a universal language that everyone can talk as well as their native language. There also would be a global currency. To curb the population explosion, every person would be allowed to have .75 of a child. Thus, a couple could have 1.5 children. Everyone would also have to right to purchase additional percentages from others. My book U Can Save Our World goes into more detail on these concepts and outlines many more ideas on how they can be implemented!

OMTimes: What would you like to tell the generations that come after you about their stewardship of the world in the years and centuries to come?

Julian Hyman: People from around the world must learn to check their egos and put aside their differences to make the world a better place for their children and future generations. The Earth is the home we live in, and all life, as well as this planet, must be respected if the human civilization is going to continue!
