Social Media continues to get more and more of a bad reputation.  Surveys confirm the thought that most of us are addicted to our phones. As well, social media can negatively impact our well-being and mental health. Social media platforms are finally coming under scrutiny for they have in the issue. By releasing new tools, they are beginning to take responsibility for their monitoring of how we spend our time online.

Many of us have admitted that social media leads to feeling anxious, overwhelmed and even burnt out. Some feel that they must be active in social media for their business and careers and struggle with not wanting to be online all the time.

Is it possible to create a state of grace and bring more balance to our lives and how we use social media? The answer is yes. By using a strategy of love, we can find the joy and simplicity that we were meant to experience.

 

Using a Strategy of Love on Social Media

The media and the digitally and socially connected communities can have a beneficial impact on our lives when it is experienced with a more conscious relationship in mind. It is possible to work positively with the aspects of social media that are available to us. Being aware and alert to the Social Media Vortex of Doom, we can participate in online communities that would otherwise be stressful and harmful to our well-being.

There are countless examples of social media connecting the right person to the right time, and it always comes from having created a space for grace and authenticity in the content, conversations, and activity. It means having come from a place of love. When a strategy of love and grace is present in our social media interactions, there isn’t any room for the more negative aspect that would otherwise be available.



It is still possible to get caught up in the Social Media Ego. The vortex that likes, followers, clicks, and comments feed the addictive behavior some of us have befallen. It is the ego that is caught up on what everybody else is experiencing for fear of missing out. It ’s the shouty, show-off, the noise of being overly busy that can overwhelm us when we are scrolling our timelines. If we come from this place, there is a clear energetic blueb]print that triggers us to move further into the ego self, which means that we would respond from the same place. It is where the Social Media Vortex of Doom begins. The question to ask is simple. Is the reaction to impress others, or is it to create a positive impact?

Another question to consider is what it would be like if people commented and reacted in real life the way they do on social media? It’s likely that friends would appreciate the behavior even less sometimes. Particularly if the communication is to broadcast, show-off, or be pushy. It isn’t kind or graceful. Social media, unfortunately, lulls us into a false need of always being online and it becomes too easy to accept certain behaviors that we wouldn’t deem appropriate in person.

 

 4 Ways to Finding Joy and Simplicity In Social Media

There is a way to enjoy social media for what it is meant and create a state of grace as well.

First: We should stop and breathe. Think about the content about to be shared or participated. Where is it being seen and why. Think about whether its purpose is to provide joy.

Second: We should remember that everyone is on their journey. What’s happening for someone online or off is a journey. Comparing ourselves to others leads to a place that our egos can thrive.

Third: We can create joyful content. If we enjoy the content that we share, it will be evident to others. It will become an experience of joy for all of us. This joy will radiate in a way that allows for a graceful connection.

Fourth: While it feels good to get attention, we can remember that it only takes one person to create a shift in the universe. We are trusting that our message will reach those that it is supposed to allow us to share our joy without expectations.

When sharing from a place of love and truth, we can connect with people authentically. It is a conscious awareness that we deserve in social media.
